Ferry services in these regions have been suspended due to the rising waters, exacerbating the connectivity issues faced by local residents.<\/span><\/h4>\n

State officials have reported that over 400,000 people across 17 districts are now affected by the relentless rainfall and flooding. The Cachar district has been particularly hard-hit, with more than 100,000 individuals displaced from their homes. Significant impacts have also been noted in Sribhumi and Nagaon, where approximately 85,000 and 62,000 people have been affected, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

While some urban areas have seen a slight reduction in water levels, rural and flood-prone regions continue to face severe threats. Continuous heavy rainfall is hindering relief efforts and rescue operations, with disaster response teams on high alert.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, the Assam government has issued advisories urging residents in at-risk areas to relocate to higher ground and remain vigilant. With no immediate relief forecasted, there are growing concerns that the situation may worsen in the upcoming days.<\/span><\/p>\n
