The Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, made a significant visit to Bodoland University this Friday. In meetings with the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.L. Ahuja, and Registrar, Dr. Subung Basumatary, discussions were centered on enhancing the university’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. A critical focal point was addressing the vacancies in both academic and non-academic departments. Daimary assured the university’s leadership of continued government support, emphasizing that the resolution of current issues is a priority.

In a gesture of tangible support, Daimary presented a cheque for ₹7.70 lakh designated for the purchase of a golf cart, reflecting the Assam Legislative Assembly’s commitment to the university’s development. This contribution underscores the government’s involvement in bolstering educational infrastructure.
Addressing the media, Daimary announced that an upcoming session of the Assam Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held in Kokrajhar, indicating a strategic focus on the region.
During his visit, he toured the girls’ hostel, where he assessed a project funded by MP funds for its development. This review highlights ongoing efforts to improve students’ living conditions, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
