The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across several northeastern states today, including Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura. In addition, substantial rainfall is also expected in other regions such as Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

The weather agency further predicts thunderstorms accompanied by lightning over Gangetic West Bengal, Lakshadweep, and Telangana within the next two days. Residents in these areas should prepare for adverse weather conditions.
Moreover, squally weather conditions are forecasted, with wind speeds reaching between 35 to 45 kilometers per hour over the west-central adjoining northwest Arabian Sea, Gulf of Mannar, and the surrounding Comorin region. These weather patterns are likely to impact daily activities and traveling conditions across the affected areas, necessitating caution and preparedness for local communities.
