A 30-year-old man identified as Azid Ali allegedly died by suicide after jumping in front of a moving train near the Haripani railway gate in Chalatapara, Bongaigaon district, on the night of October 1, according to his family. The complaint alleges that Ali had faced repeated harassment from two local moneylenders over loan repayment.
Ali was a resident of Nayagaon in Jogighopa. His family filed a first information report at Abhayapuri police station, naming Babul Hussain and Iman Ali, both from Nayagaon, as the alleged lenders.

According to the complaint, Azid Ali had borrowed âš1.5 lakh from Hussain and an additional âš40,000 from Ali at an alleged interest rate of 10 per cent. Although he had been paying the monthly interest, the family said the lenders continued to subject him to financial pressure and mental harassment, leaving him in severe distress.
Azid is survived by his nine-month-pregnant wife. His brother, Hanif Ali, filed the complaint and requested action against the two men named in the FIR.
